Checkmk comes with many ready-made checks and detects services on servers and network devices largely automatically. This makes getting started quick, even in mixed environments.
We place it in Trial. Some features are available only in the commercial editions. If Zabbix or Prometheus is already established, switching without a specific reason is not worthwhile.
A good fit if …
- you monitor a mixed server and network landscape
- getting started should take little configuration
- there is no monitoring specialist on the team
Not a good fit if …
- you mainly monitor container platforms
- another monitoring system is well established
