Dashboards for operations and data centre metrics.
Grafana shows metrics from many sources in one dashboard, for example from Prometheus, Zabbix or databases. It is well suited to making operational and data centre metrics such as UPS, PDU, cooling and network visible to operations and management.
What matters is a few clear dashboards with target values rather than lots of charts. Dashboards belong in Git under version control. We place it in Trial because its value depends on clean data sources and an alerting concept.
A good fit if …
- metrics from several monitoring sources come together
- management and audits need regular reports
- SLAs need to be backed by evidence
Not a good fit if …
- there is no alerting concept; dashboards do not replace one
- nobody maintains the dashboards
